Biography: Dr. Yu Hao is currently a full professor at the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEP), Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). He earned a Ph.D. in Hamburg University in 2012. Currently, his main research interests include environmental policy, ecological economics and energy economics. So far, he has published over 150 papers in peer−reviewed journals in these fields of research. He is the chief expert of a major program of the National Social Science Foundation of China. He won the 16th Young Teacher Award of Higher Education Institutions of the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation in 2017. He was also selected as the "Highly Cited Researcher of Clarviate" in 2022.

Biography: Dr. Pierre Failler is a Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Business and Law and Director of the Centre for Blue Governance. He specialises in development economics, particularly environmental or ecological economics. He explores the interfaces between the use of natural resources and the development of countries. His particular area of expertise is the 'Blue Economy' — the sustainable use of oceans and coastlines for economic growth while preserving the health of ecosystems. He investigate how developing countries can benefit from the use of natural resources in a sustainable way, and, importantly, how to place a monetary value on the protection of the natural environment. His research helps countries to develop sustainably. It informs the implementation of policies that favour environmental protection while providing economic and social benefits. He coordinates complex research projects with multidisciplinary teams in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific region, working in collaboration with national research institutions, universities and policy makers.
He supports many organisations to develop their strategies for the use of oceans and the coast. He coordinated Blue Economy Strategies for the African Union, the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD), the Government of Bangladesh and the Government of Seychelles. He also coordinated the Regional Action Plan for the Blue Economy of the Indian Ocean Commission. He has authored or co-authored over 350 journal articles, book chapters, research reports, consultancy reports, media reports, conference papers and proceedings. He's a reviewer for many scientific journals. He's a scientific evaluator for several research councils in the UK, Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.

Biography: Dr. Haitao Wu is an influential scholar on applied economics at School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Currently, his main research interests include macroeconomics, business Economics, ecological economics and energy economics. So far, He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals like Environmental and Resource Economics (ABS/AJG 3), The Energy Journal (ABS/AJG 3), Energy Economics (ABS/AJG 3), Kyklos (ABS/AJG 3) , Technological Forecasting and Social Change (ABS/AJG 3), Business Strategy and the Environment (ABS/AJG 3), NPJ Urban Sustainability (Nature series journal), Journal of Environmental Management (ABS/AJG 3). Among his published papers, more than 30 were selected as high cited papers of ESI (top 1%), and more than 20 were selected as hot papers of ESI (top 0.1%). In addition, he won the Best Paper Award of Energy Economics in 2022. According to Google scholar, his H-index exceeded 30 and his papers were cited around 5000 times. In addition, he also served as reviewer of more than 40 SCI/SSCI journals, including Environmental and Resource Economics, Global Environmental Change, Ecological Economics, Energy Economics, and Journal of Environmental Management.

Biography: Dr. Vu Trinh is an Assistant Professor in Accounting and Finance at the Newcastle University Business School (NUBS). He is also a Deputy Director, leading on "External Events, Research Impacts and Engagement" of Finance and Banking Network (FBNet) - Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global). He has won some awards, including "Outstanding Researcher of the Year - Accounting and Finance - ECRs" at the Research and Scholarship Festival 2022, NUBS. He has published extensively in the fields of corporate governance, strategies and sustainability in leading academic journals (4 and 3-rated ABS) such as the British Journal of Management, Annals of Tourism Research, The European Journal of Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Business Strategy and the Environment, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, International Journal of Finance and Economics, among many others. He is the lead and sole author of the book "Fundamentals of Board Busyness and corporate governance" in Springer (2022) and an editor of several scholarly journals. His research has been supported by research grants from some national and international donors such as OECD. It has been widely cited in academia, e.g., a recent publication is among the most cited, downloaded, and popular articles from the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money (3*-ABS) since 2018, while another one is one of the most cited articles published in European Journal of Finance (3*-ABS) in the last three years.
He was educated at the Universities of Newcastle [PhD in Finance], Northumbria [MSc in Finance with a distinction, ranked 2nd], and Economics HCMC [BSc in Finance with a first-class honours and top graduates]. He had received several international funding, bursaries, scholarships and other awards. Typically, He was awarded the scholarship "SCIC - Fostering young talents 2011", one of the most prestigious awards from State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) - A strategic investor of the Vietnamese government. He is a dedicated educator who consistently receives excellent and positive student feedback. His teaching covers Finance and Accounting modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has held posts at the Universities of Newcastle, Huddersfield, and Economics and Finance HCMC. He is a Fellow of the HEA [Higher Education Academy] and obtained Higher Education Postgraduate Certificate from Huddersfield University.
